Over the last year, the Excelsior Action Group (EAG) – an organization spearheading community-driven planning in the neighborhood – set out to identify the community’s top concerns and opportunities for increasing engagement and collaboration. Sixty interviews and almost 100 surveys later, the area’s diverse voices articulated four priorities for activities to improve the neighborhood:
• Cleanliness and beautification
• Public safety
• Jobs and workforce development
• Education and after-school opportunities for children and youth
